Jamaica Plain is home of the Orange Line.  We have Forest Hills (the end of the line and a major bus hub), Green Street T, Stony Brook T and Jackson Square.  You can be at Back Bay Station in 15 minutes or less from Forest Hills. It is the fastest and most reliable of all the lines. I have lived next to Forest Hills for the last 10 years. It is an area that is believed by some to be questionable for safety, but having raised 2 children in the neighborhood I can say I don’t feel that it is a problem.  We live on the Arboretum side of the neighborhood, near the Massachusetts State Lab.  This is a photo of my younger son at Back Bay Station when we were waiting for our train home from Copley Square.  We often use the 39 bus as well, the most used bus line in the city that now runs down South Street, to Centre Street, to South Huntington, To Huntington Street, passing the Longwood Medical Area providing transportation for all the medical people who have settled in Jamaica Plain, as well as the Art and Music Students and teachers who commute to Berklee School of Music, Mass Art and School of the Museum of Fine Arts.  I used the bus for years when I worked at the Boston, Museum of Fine Arts.
